Abstract
1311529 Monoazo dyes FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 13 Aug 1970 [14 Aug 1969] 38995/70 Heading C4P The invention comprises disperse monoazo dyes of formula wherein D is the residue of a benzene, benzthiazole or thiazole diazo component free of water-solubilizing groups, R 1 is a H or halogen atom or C 1-4 alkyl, alkoxy or carboxylic acid acylamino group, R 2 is a H or halogen atom or a C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy group, R 3 is a H atom or C 1-4 alkyl group which may be substituted by halogen, OH, CN or carboxylic acid acyloxy and R 4 is a hydrogen atom or C 1-4 carboxylic acid acyloxy group. The dyes are prepared by azo coupling and the dyes wherein R 4 = H may be subsequently acylated. The dyes may be used to colour cellulose acetate, synthetic polyamide and polyurethane, and, in particular polyester, fibres in red and blue shades.
