Abstract

1311049 Cartons TAYLOWE Ltd 9 March 1972 [17 May 1971] 15194/71 Heading B8P In a " flip-top " carton having an inner wall structure 4 that assists in retaining the lid closed a pair of lap panels 6, 7 are provided and folded one upon the other and folded at right angles to the adjacent side wall 8 so that the opposite edge 9 of the blank can be glued thereto. A tab 16 extending from panel 7 is glued to the rear panel of the shell and hinges therewith when the lid is opened. The presence of the tab 16 prevents the line of severance 11 meeting the edge of the blank and so separating the lid section 15 from the remainder of the blank at that point. In a modification, tab 16 is extended across panel 6 and is connected to panel 6 and the adjacent panel of the inner structure but has to be slit along line 18 to facilitate the opening of the lid.
