1310581 Drainage bags SIMPLA PLASTICS Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 7327/70 Heading A5R [Also in Division F2] A drainage top for the outlet tube (7) of a PVC urine collection bag (8) connected to a patient has a flow passage 2 perpendicular to a tubular body part 4 having unequal length arms 4a, 4b in which a piston 5 with a reduced diameter portion slides with a close fit. Portions 5a, 5b of the piston are of unequal length with the length of portion 5b being equal to arm 4a. When the valve is open portion 5a projects out of arm 4b and when the valve is closed portion 5b projects out of arm 4a so that the valve is easily actuated by hand. The outlet 3 is obliquely cut-off at 10. Preferably tubular ports 2, 4 are of or lined with polypropylene and the piston is of or coated with polyethylene.
