Abstract

1310182 Endless conveyers BURKESHIRE ENG CO Ltd 8 Dec 1971 [8 Dec 1970] 58195/70 Heading B8A A belt conveyer comprises a boom 12 which is slidably suspended from a main boom 1. At its inner end 14, the boom 12 has a roller 22 which runs along a track 23 on the top of the main boom 1, the remote end 13 of the boom 12 being supported on rollers 27 mounted on straps 24 secured to the main boom. Chains 28 suspend the conveyer from a monorail, for example. Sections 4, 5 of the main boom are connected by plates 6 and a section 9 is adjustably connected by plates 10 between the section 5 and a drive unit 7. For displacing the boom 12 relative to the main boom, a pair of hydraulic rams have brackets 18 which are releasably connected, by a pin engageable in holes 19, with the boom 12. The belt 30, driven by a motor-gear-box unit 31, engages various idler and tensioning rollers.
