Abstract

1310140 Hair fixative CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 4 Aug 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 37474/70 Heading A5B [Also in Division C3] A composition for use as a hair setting and fixing agent comprises a solution containing from 1 to 10% by weight of a copolymer of from 40 to 60% by weight of 2-methyl-2- oxazoline and 60 to 40% by weight of 2-npropyl-2-oxazoline, the copolymer having a reduced specific viscosity of 0.1 to 0.35 measured in a Hoeppler viscometer, using a 0.5% solution in m-cresol at 25‹C. The composition also may contain from 0.1 to 1% by weight of a poly-(1-phenyl-1-hydroxy-propan)- o1 having a molecular weight of from 600 to 700. The solution may be an aqueous alcoholic solution in which the solvent consists of at least 55% of one or more alcohols containing 2 to 3 carbon atoms. Perfumes, gloss-imparting agents, dyes, spreading agents, ultra-violet light absorbers, disinfectants and propellants may be added to the compositions. Examples are given.
