1310143 Preparation of 2-ethylhexanal-1 BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 14 Aug 1970 [16 Aug 1969] 39196/70 Heading C2C 2 - Ethylhexanal - 1 is produced by the hydrogenation of 2-ethylhexen-2-al-1 at elevated temperature and pressure and in the presence of noble metal preferably platinum, palladium or ruthenium catalysts supported on carriers, wherein catalysts are used which have been obtained by impregnating silicic acid carriers, which have been heated at from 800‹ to 1100‹ C., with salts of noble metals, drying and optionally reheating, followed by treatment with hydrogen.
