Abstract

1309541 Guard rails HIGHFIELD ENG (TELFORD) CO Ltd 19 March 1970 [19 Dec 1968] 60310/68 Heading E1B A guard rail comprises upper and lower horizontal rails 20 and 30 releasably secured between spaced posts 10 and a plurality of bars 40 loosely interfitting in apertures 41 and 42 in the rails. The upper rails are connected to pivotally mounted caps 12 by an expansible member 21 gripping the inner surfaces of the caps and rails. The bottom rails have spigot member 31 screwed thereto and having spigot portions 32 which engage in holes 33 in the posts. The pivoted cap and loosely fitting bars enable the guard rail to be used on inclined ground.
