Abstract
1308549 Conveying apparatus JAWRY (ENGS) Ltd 18 June 1971 [20 March 1970] 13495/70 Heading B8A Apparatus for dipping timber into preserving or fungicidal liquid in a tank 10, comprises a framework 18 in which the timber rests, the framework being lowered and raised by a forklift truck of which the fork prongs are inserted in apertures 42 formed in a bracket 40 secured to the framework. The framework is guided between columns 12 having guide plates 32 and, in its upper position 18<SP>1</SP>, is held by cam members 44 which may be pivoted clear of the framework 18 by a manual control 68, 70. For ensuring that a load, once immersed, remains so for a predetermined time, an electromagnetic locking and timer mechanism is operated as the framework descends. With the framework in its upper position a load of timber is deposited by a fork-lift truck on the framework, the fork of the truck is inserted in the apertures 42 and the framework raised slightly. The operator then retracts the cams 44 and lowers the fork together with the loaded framework which, at the end of the timed period may be raised clear of the tank. The cams 44 automatically engage and support the framework in this raised position 18<SP>1</SP>.
