Abstract
1308109 Regenerative hot-blast stoves DIDIER-WERKE AG 30 June 1971 [1 July 1970] 30646/71 Heading F4K In a group of regenerative hot-blast stoves which share a common cold-air supply manifold 13 and a common hot-blast supply pipe 16 leading torn furnace, a stove which is ready to go "on blast" is first filled with compressed air from a source independent from the air manifold 13 whereby temperature fluctuations in the hot-blast-caused when a freshly heated stove is being filled with air from the cold air supply manifold, are avoided. The independent source may comprise a separate filling blower for each stove, or a filling blower-connected to a common filling pipe for the stoves. Alternatively, and as shown, the independent source may comprise a reservoir 23 of compressed air maintained by a blower 22; the filling air being supplied to the appropriate stove via ducting 24 and 25 or 26. In the arrangement shown,the blast temperature is controlled by admixture with unheated air from the supply pipe 13, said air being conveyed to the appropriate stove via a by-pass line 17, line 20 or 21 and mixer valve 18 or 19. 5, 6, 7 and 8 are the fuel supply lines to the stove combustion chamber 3 or 4, and 9 and 10 are the respective combustion gas outlets from the stoves.
