Abstract

1308036 Moulding lightweight pallets WILLCOX & GIBBS Inc 15 April 1970 [1 Aug 1969] 17881/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] In a method of forming a moulded plastics pallet (see Division B8] the lower half of the mould 30 is lined with a reinforcing layer of material and then filled with moist, partially expanded beads of polystyrene. Flaps 42 of the reinforcing layer are then folded over the mould and the mould is then closed by an upper member 30b. The mould is then heated by dielectric heating, expanding the polystyrene and bonding the same to the reinforcing layer. An adhesive or the like may be applied to the reinforcing layer to aid the bonding.
