Abstract
1307032 Fluorescence microscopy ERNST LEITZ GmbH 22 April 1971 [2 May 1970 13 Nov 1970] 10735/71 Heading G2J An illuminator for illuminating a fluorescent material comprises light source 1, mirror 4a, dichroic mirror 4, and filter 7, the light being reflected by 4a to dichroic semi-reflector 4, and thence to illuminate the object 6 via objective 5, giving fluorescence which passes through semireflector 4 and filter 7, wherein mirror 4a is a dichroic reflector or semi-reflector as shown or is a mirror preceded by a filter Figs.1 4 and 5, (not shown). Filter 7 removes excitation radiation from the beam viewed. Mirrors 4, 4a may be movable, preferably together, and filter 7 may also be movable. Filter 7 may be interchangeable, and interchangeable units of mirrors and filters arranged as above may be provided in a microscope Figs.6-9, (not shown).
