Abstract
1306400 Gaseous flow silencers K B OLSSON 16 Nov 1970 54478/70 Heading F1B An intake or exhaust silencer for internal combustion apparatus, e.g. I.C. engines or heating apparatus, comprises two co-axial truncated cones 12, 13 having cone angles a, b from 20 to 30 degrees and 5 to 15 degrees, respectively, preferably about 25 degrees and 10 degrees. The cone 12 has its smaller and connected to a central opening 16 in the end wall 15 of the cone 13 and a pipe 10 extends through the end wall 14 of the cone 12. The silencer may be formed of sheet metal or by casting. The gases may flow in either direction through the silencer.
