Abstract
1306350 Container handling KLOCKNERWERKE AG 3 Sept 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 41137/71 Heading B8Q Apparatus for transferring a container 2 from a vehicle 1 to a support vehicle 3, from where it may be further transferred to a vehicle on the other side thereof, comprises telescopic guide systems mounted on the vehicle 3 and which in their extended positions are supported on the vehicle 1, the guide systems including guide elements 5 having container lifting devices 7, 8 which are movable along the elements 5 to transfer the container. The guide systems are movable longitudinally of the vehicle 3 to position a system adjacent each end of the container to be transferred, and once the elements 5 have been extended, the lifting devices comprising discs 7 each carrying a cam 8 eccentrically thereon, are rotated and the cams 8 lift the container 2 by engagement with holes in the corners thereof. The discs 7 of each guide system are mounted on a slide movable along the guide elements 5 by a double acting ram, the remote end of which is releasably coupled at various points to the elements 5 so that the container is moved by several strokes of the ram. The two guide systems may be operated independently or in synchronism. In another embodiment the support vehicle is replaced by a static support structure.
