1305524 Halogenation process DISOLVENTES HIDROGENADOS SA 5 March 1971 6171/71 Heading C2C Pyridones, quinolones and pyrimidones are ring-halogenated by reaction with chloric, bromic or iodic acid, or an alkali metal salt thereof, in the presence of the hydrohalic acid corresponding to the halogen to be introduced. Products exemplified are 3,5-dichloro- and 3,5- dibromo-2,6-dimethyl-4-pyridones.
