Abstract

1304967 Releasable fastenings ITW-ATECO GmbH 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 23770/ 71 Heading E2B A fastener includes a deformable hollow shank 7 terminating in a free end, the shank having an internal longitudinal bore into which a pin 15 can be driven so as to expand the shank, the bore including a tapered portion 8 which decreases in cross section towards the free end, and a cylindrical portion 10 between the tapered portion and the free end, there being a plurality of circumferentially spaced internal axial ribs 12 in the cylindrical portion, these ribs having longitudinal crests which extend obliquely towards the axis of the bore and towards the free end of the shank. In the construction shown the crest of each of the ribs is in alignment with the internal surface of the tapered portion. The shank extends from a body 3 which can include means as shown for securing a trim strip to the panel or alternatively the body can include means for securing a cable to the panel
