Abstract

1304495 Containers W ZARGES 27 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 44952/71 Heading B8P A collapsible container comprises walls 3 hingedly connected to the base by means of bolts 4 extending into oblong holes 5 in the base. The walls may be removed by openings 6 being provided at the top of the holes 5, or at the top of the inner side wall of each hole, a bead 7, a split pin, a dowel pin bolt, a screw, a wedge, or an elastic or spring biased bolt or ball normally preventing removal of each bolt. The bolt may have a non-circular cross-section with the width of the opening being the same size as the minor diameter of the bolt. Alternatively the bolts may be screwed into the walls with an aperture being provided at the top of the holes and through which the screws can be withdrawn. Complementary projections and recesses may be provided in the base and walls to engage in one another when the walls are assembled. Stops on the base may make linear or point contact with the inner surface of the bottom of each wall. Each wall may have a rotatable shaft with a pinion at each end engaging a rack in the base to avoid tilting of the walls during movement of the bolts in the oblong holes. The bolts may constitute the ends of the bolts.
