Abstract

1303604 Making electrical connectors W HOLZER & CO KG 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970] 24688/71 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] A method of making a spring contact includes forming two integral contact components 2, 2 from a strip and folding the components along a line 3 so that they are superimposed. A tongue 4 on one of the components is bent over to fix them together, whereupon a cable connecting portion 5 is bent to shape. The components 2 may be made oversize and trimmed after they have been superimposed. The outer longitudinal edges of fingers 6 are in contact and the inner longitudinal edges (9<SP>1</SP>) are separated to eliminate tilting of the contact when in position on a printed circuit board, Fig. 2 (not shown). The cable connecting portion may extend in the same direction as the fingers 6 or it may extend transversely to them.
