Abstract

1303585 Loading containers on to vehicles OFFICINE MECCANICHE UMBERTO PIACENZA SpA 19 April 1971 [28 March 1970] 20047/71 Heading B8Q Apparatus for loading a container C @ Fig. 3, on to a vehicle 13 comprises a frame 1 with retractable legs 2, 4 which co-operates with a guiding frame on the vehicle chassis so that the vehicle can be backed under the frame 1 without the use of auxiliary lifting devices. Latching means for the container, such as 37, are provided at the front and rear of the chassis and rollers 36 on the container facilitate loading. The legs 4 are automatically retracted from their spring-biased vertical position when a roller 11 abuts the chassis. The rear legs 2 are telescopically withdrawn after loading is completed. The front legs 4 are automatically locked in and released from their operative positions.
