1303307 Making batteries INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE DES CARBURANTS ET LUBRIFIANTS 11 Nov 1970 [13 Nov 1969] 53650/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division H1] A method of moulding a casing wall on to the edges of a pile of plates, e.g. of a fuel cell, in which passageways are provided in the wall leading to spaces between adjacent plates, consists in locating one or more separators 13-15 with teeth 13b, 14b, 15b along one or more sides of the pile of plates, with the teeth fitting closely into the spaces between adjacent plates, placing the pile in a mould 26 and casting resin about the edges of the plates to a level not above that of the teeth, allowing the resin to harden and removing the separators, Fig. 4A. The teeth may be of an elastic material to assist withdrawal.
