1301738 Peptides ORGANON LABORATORIES Ltd 26 June 1970 [9 July 1969] 31111/70 Heading C2C Compounds of the formula: X-Met-Glu (or Csln)-His-D-Phe-Arg (or Lys)-Trp-Y(I) where X is H, H-Ser or H-Gly; Y is OH or Gly-OH and where Met- and -Ser are in either the L- or D- forms and their salts, complexes, amides and esters are prepared by methods known for the preparation of peptide. The following compounds are prepared as starting materials and intermediates: BOCMet-Glu(OtBu)OEt and its hydrazide; BOC-DMet-Glu(OtBu)OEt and its hydrazide; BOCGly-Met-OMe and its hydrazide; BOC-Ser-Met- OMe and its hydrazide; BOC-D-Ser-OMe and its hydrazide; BOC-Ser-Met-Glu(OtBu)OEt and its hydrazide; BOC-D-Sri-Met-Glu(OtBu)NHNH 2 ; BOC - Gly-Met - Glu(OtBu)NHNH 2 ; Trit(Trit) His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp OMe and the free acid; Trit- (Trit)His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp NHNH 2 , Trit(Trit)- His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Gly OH, HCl and its hexadecylester; glycine hexadecyl ester HCl; H-His- D-Phe-Arg-Trp OH; H-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Gly OH and its hexadecyl ester; Z-(BOC)Lys-Trp OMe; H-(BOC)Lys-Trp OMe; Z-His-D-Phe- (BOC)Lys.Trp OMe; H-His-D-Phe-(BOC)Lys- Trp OMe and BOC-Met-aiu(OtBu)-His-D-Phe- Arg-Tro-Gly OH. Pharmaceutical compositions in forms for enteral and parenteral administration contain compounds (I) and have psychophaimacological activity.
