Abstract
1300859 Overboots RUBBERFABRIEK VREOESTEIN NV 21 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 10513/71 Heading A3B An overboot 1 made of rubberised fabric includes a tubular leg portion 2, an insole (not shown) and a tread 3 having an upturned marginal portion which covers the seam between the insole and the leg 2 and which is vulcanized to the leg 2, the overboot also including strips 7 which are secured to the leg 2 over part of their width 9, the portions 10 of the strips 7 loose from the leg being provided with closing elements. The seams of the leg 2 are covered by rubber strips vulcanized thereto, e.g. the strip 5 at the front of the leg 2. The strips 7 are curved towards the toe of the overboot and the closing elements may comprise lacing 12 passing through eyelets 11 in the strips 7 and through an eyelet 15 in an extension 14 of the toe cap 13. In use, when the lacing is tightened, the leg 2 is folded so that the strip 5 fills the gap between the strips 7 and the toe of the overboot is pulled against the inner footwear by the lacing passing through eyelet 15. In a modification the eyelets 11 may be replaced by hooks (not shown) or other colsing elements, e.g. buckles.
