Abstract

1300622 Positive let-off motions TEIJIN Ltd 2 April 1970 [3 April 1969] 15732/70 Heading D1E A positive let-off motion has a movable back rest 12 controlling a variable speed transmission drive 4 to the warp beam 11 such that an initial movement of the back rest increases or decreases rotational speed of the beam 11, and further movement operates a further control means to increase or decrease the rotational speed still further to allow the back rest to move back to its original position. The back rest 12 acts through levers 13 and 15, and rod 16 on a threaded rod 21 which has screwed thereon a joint 34 controlling the variable speed transmission 4. The further control means may comprise a lever 19 oscillated by a cam ring 32 acting on a follower 31 and having pawls 25, (26) and ratchet wheels 27 and 28 with teeth facing in opposite directions such that when rod 21 is lowered, wheel 27 engages with one of the pawls and it and the rod 21 are rotated so that joint 34 is further lowered and the rotational speed of the beam further increased. Other further control means may include a bevel gear mechanism Fig. 4 (not shown), or electric switches or a photoelectric cell on the back rest controlling an electric motor which alters the speed control of variable speed transmission 4, or a hydraulic piston and cylinder attached to the back rest and controlling transmission 4 through a hydraulic line.
