1300573 Compositions comprising peat FISONS Ltd 19 May 1970 [7 June 1969] 28929/69 Heading C1B A compost comprises milled peat and one or more fertilizer ingredients, characterized in that the milled peat has the following overall physical characteristics: (a) a dry weight of 0À056 to 0À08 gram per ml., (b) a water absorption of from 5 to 10 grams per gram of dry peat solids as determined by the method defined, (c) substantially 100% of the milled peat particles passing through a sieve of 9À515 mm. aperture and 10 to 25% by weight of the particles being retained on a sieve of 6À325 mm. aperture, the milled peat having been dried to a water content of less than 70% by weight if necessary and (d) 30 to 50% by weight of the milled peat particles retained on the 6À325 mm. aperture sieve sinking in the flotation test described.
