1300221 Artificial stone P H MORRISON W URQUHART and D J McAULEY 19 Jan 1970 [18 Oct 1968] 49502/68 Heading C1H Artificial stone elements are obtained by thermally bonding a mineral filler with at least 10% of a thermoplastic resin both being of similar particle size. Wire, mesh, fibre or fabric reinforcements are optional. The upper surface can have a pattern and the under surface lettering derived from the mould. Specified thermoplasts are P.V.C. polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, and polypropylene. A filler, e.g. sand, glass, diatomaceous earth, flint, shale, mica, granite, schists, basalt asbestos, carbon, brick dust, metal oxides, NaHCO 3 , metal powder or wood, can be dusted in the mould before the mixture to give a rough undersurface.
