Abstract
1300079 Making reinforcement fabric; welding by pressure H HALLER and E WENDL 22 Dec 1969 [23 Dec 1968 29 April 1969 23 Sept 1969] 62426/69 Headings B3A and B3R [Also in Division D1] A reinforcement fabric comprises a series of metal bars 1 loosely held between pairs of bands 2, 3 joined intermediate the bars. When tensioned the bands, viewed in longitudinal cross-section, extend linearly of the bars. The bars may be stiff sections of structural steels such as thorium, bismuth and like alloy steels. The fabric can be rolled-up. One, or two, discrete joins may be made; or the bands may be continuously joined by adhesive. Alternatively only loops of the top band need be provided (Fig. 7, not shown). The bands may be metal strip e.g. iron, wire, plastics, textile materials, elastics or rubber. They may be joined by welding, adhesive or rivets. Several bars may be arranged in each loop. In the preferred embodiments in which the bars are enclosed in metallic strips the bars are pushed, by a pusher 13, between the bands which are welded on both sides of the bar simultaneously by welding tools 16, 17 or by a single tool 30 operating on each side successively.
