Abstract

1399903 Electric watches CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 11 Oct 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 46837/72 Heading G3T A wrist watch powered by an electric cell 5 has a push-button 3, for correcting the time indication, fitted in the case 1 at a position corresponding to between 7:30 and 8:30 on a conventional dial, and a further member for correcting the time indication fitted at the 3 o'clock position. As shown the latter is a stem 2 which can be used to operate a time setting mechanism 10, a calendar correcting mechanism, or to open contacts in the battery circuit. The stem may, however, be replaced by a second push-button. The button 3 operates an hour, minute, and seconds hand correcting mechanism 11 which is spaced from the mechanism 10. The case has recessed rear surfaces 1a, b to make it feel thinner. The watch has an electronic circuit block 9 with a coil 9a co-operating with a balance 6. The use of a quartz crystal oscillator and a liquid crystal display is alternatively envisaged.
