1398994 Rotary positive-displacement machines W B EASTON 10 Aug 1972 37385/72 Headings F1A, F1F, F1M and FIN In an expansible chamber fluid-pressure device having a block 11 provided with passages 24-30 each leading to a respective working chamber (not shown), the passages are alternately connected to high and low pressure by a movable valve 20 urged against the block surface 32 by fluid admitted to a chamber 18 through a passageway containing a non-return valve and in direct, Fig. 3 (not shown), or indirect communication with at least one of the passages 24-30. Two possible indirect passageway arrangements are described. In the first, passageways 60, 61 containing non-return valves 62, 63 are connected, respectively, between reversible inlet and outlet ports 40, 41 and the chamber 18. These ports 40, 41 connect via passages 44, 45 to separate recesses 50, 51 in the valve 20, which recesses alternately register with the passages 24-30. In the second arrangement passageways 70, 71 containing non-return valves 72, 73 are connected, respectively, between the recesses 50, 51 and the chamber 18. The two arrangements may be combined.
