Abstract

1398450 Hinges PAUL HETTICH & CO 25 Oct 1973 [26 Oct 1972] 49769/73 Heading E2F A hinge assembly comprises a hinge arm 2 pivotally connected to a housing 1, a rocker member 10 pivotally carried by the housing and having projections 11, (12), Fig. 3 (not shown), extending into a recess 5 in the housing and cooperable with the hinge arm 2 to retain it in a predetermined position, an extension arm 23 on the rocker member 10 in a chamber 7 adjacent the recess 5 and cooperating with a spring 25 to form an overcentre mechanism tending to retain the rocker member in its limit positions. Either a compression spring or a leaf spring may be used. The rocker member is retained by housing portion 16 which has resilient projections 17, 21 which engage in recesses 18, 22 in the housing 1. The housing is cylindrical and is adapted to be inserted into a door of an article of furniture.
