Abstract

1398035 Sheet ordering apparatus WEAN UNITED Inc 17 May 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 23573/73 Heading B8R To deflect sheets from a path of movement along a conveyer belt 8 into a path of movement along a conveyer belt 14, a deflector roller 11 is arranged to be moved into a position where it distorts the upper run of belt 8 so that a sheet S will pass over a guide surface 42 on to the belt 14. The deflector roller is arranged on a pivoted arm 18 and movement of the roller about the pivot point of this arm is controlled by a toggle linkage 24, 26 arranged to be moved by a piston and cylinder 28. The sheets may be of metal and be held on the first portion of the conveyer 8 by permanent magnets 30 carried on arms 18. Permanent magnets 38 may be provided to hold the sheets on belt 14. Electro-magnets 34 may be energized to hold the sheets on a second portion of the conveyer 8 when the lower path has been selected. The sheets may be in transit between a cutting station and stacking stations.
