Abstract

1398048 Extrusion presses L SCHULER GmbH 16 July 1973 [15 July 1972] 33721/73 Heading B3P An eccentric or crank driven extrusion press has the stroke of its ram 5 adjusted by a wedge 11 movable between a fixed part 9 and one or more bearing blocks 7 for the crank or eccentric. The crank or eccentric has a gear 3 driven by a pinion 2. The block 7 is guided linearly by guides 8 and the adjustment is limited by the backlash between the gears 2, 3. Alternatively the block may move along a curved path and the adjustment is independent of backlash. The wedge may be adjusted manually, mechanically, electrically or hydraulically or by a combination of thereof.
