Abstract

1397126 Animal feed troughs A JACOBSZ 23 May 1972 [9 Sept 1971] 24304/72 Heading AIM A feed trough 10 has a cover 16 operated by an animal actuated mechanism. The cover is mounted on frames 18 hinged about a shaft 20 and is biased towards the closed position by a spring 22. The mechanism comprises a platform 26, hinged on a rod 28 and connected by arms 30 to a crank 34 on the shaft 20, which when depressed by an animal opens the cover 16. The trough may be provided with supply hopper and side railings and spaced vertical bars may be provided between the outer ends of the railings to limit the trough's use to smaller animals.
