Abstract

1396210 Deodorizing manure H E W HANSSON 30 April 1973 20431/73 Headings C1C and C1B Animal and human waste products and digested sludge produced therefrom are deodorized by contacting them with an aqueous solution of deodorizing effect which, as active material, contains an SO 3 = ion releasing substance which is sodium or potassium pyrosulphite in combination with formaldehyde or solely sodium or potassium pyrosulphite or sodium or potassium hydrogen sulphite. The aqueous solution may also contain a metal ion containing redox agent, such as ferrous sulphate, to increase the deodorizing effect. The deodorized product may be applied to fields as a fertilizer.
