Abstract

1396139 Bleaching pulp HOOKER CHEMICAL CORP 3 Nov 1972 [10 Nov 1972] 50859/72 Heading D1P Waste paper pulp is bleached by contact with chlorine dioxide used as the sole bleaching agent in a single bleaching step. The pulp may be at 59 to 180‹F and pH 2 to 5 and contacted with up to 1% wt chlorine dioxide. The pulp may be neutralised by addition of acid or alkali prior to contact with the chlorine dioxide. The pulp may contain up to 7% wt groundwood.
