Abstract
1395517 Hydraulic reciprocating motors BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd 11 Dec 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 57327/72 Heading F1A Hydraulic vibratory apparatus, e.g. for driving the teeth 21 of an excavator, comprises actuators 20 each comprising a double-acting piston 46, Fig.2, in a cylinder 45 having two outlets 48, 49 and two inlets 50, 51, a spool valve 17 driven by an hydraulic oscillator connecting inlet 50 and outlet 49 to supply and exhaust, respectively, while closing inlet 51 and outlet 48 for one stroke, and vice versa for the other stroke, creep of the piston towards one end being prevented due to the throttling action of the piston on the respective outlet 48, 49 towards which it is creeping. The hydraulic oscillator comprises hydraulicallyactuated spool valves 18, 19, each effecting reversal of the other, the rate of oscillation being manually controlled by adjustable throttle valve 6. Spool valve 18 is spring-biased in one direction to prevent stalling, Fig.3 (not shown). The working liquid is supplied by a pump 10 via a filter 12 and on-off valve 13, a pressure-relief valve 14 being provided.
