Abstract

1394693 Electric insulators NIPPON GAISHI KK 26 Oct 1972 [1 Nov 1971] 49442/72 Heading H2C An insulator comprises a porcelain body 1 with metal fittings 7, 8 cemented thereto, a semiconducting glaze 4 on the exposed surfaces of the body and projecting slightly into the cement 5, 6, low melting point alloy parts 9, 10 applied directly on the glaze 4 and insulated from the metal fittings and conductors, e.g. copper wires 11, 12 connecting each metal fitting to an associated alloy part. Thus discharge through, and consequent deterioration of, the cement is prevented.
