Abstract
1393612 Electro-photographic devices XEROX CORP 8 June 1972 [10 June 1971] 26752/72 Heading G2C An electro-photographic device comprises, between conductive support layer 11 and photoconductive layer 13 10 to 200 microns thick, a barrier layer 12 0.5 to 3 microns thick comprising a mixture of a polycarbonate and a polyurethane in proportions between 1:1 and 7:1. The interlayer may be applied to the support layer 11 by coating it with a solution of the constituents and drying to form a film. The coating solution may also include copper phthalocyanine, zinc oxide, caduim sulphoselenide or metal-tree phthalocyanine. Layer 11 may be nickel, brass, aluminium steel, metallized paper, metal-plastics laminate, copper iodide coated plastics, or glass coated with chromium or tin oxide. The device may be an endless flexible belt or cylindrical. Photo-conductive layer 13 may be vitreous Se or Se alloyed with As, Sb, Te, S, Bi or mixtures thereof applied by vacuum evaporation, and may be doped with chlorine or iodine.
