Abstract
1393286 Benzodiazepines SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 28 July 1972 [30 July 1971 20 Oct 1971 26 Oct 1971 29 Oct 1971 17 Jan 1972] 35511/72 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1 = H, halogen, NO 2 ,CF 3 ;R 2 , 3 = H, halogen, Me, Et; R 4 = C 1-4 alkyl or haloalkyl, C 2-4 alkenyl, C 1-4 alkoxy-(C 1-4 , alkyl), aryl, aralkyl, tetrahydrofuranyl, tetrahydropyranyl; A = alkylene; B=O, S, SO, SO 2 ; m = 1 and R 6 =H or m=0 and R 6 = OH or acyloxy) and their salts are prepared by introducing the 1-substituent and/or oxidation, optionally followed by acylation, hydrolysis and/or salt formation. The above compounds are tranquillizers, sedatives, muscle relaxants and spasmolytics, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
