Abstract

1392293 Apparatus for examining garments HALL TEXTILES (MANSFIELD) LTD 7 June 1972 [17 June 1971] 28409/71 Heading A3V [Also in Division D1] An apparatus for the inspection of garments of tubular form e.g. shirts, blouses, tights and pantie hose comprises two vertical channel-section members 3 mounted with adjustable spacing on a rotatable platform 2, and a centrally arranged member 12, all three members having internal, e.g. fluorescent, lights 5, 13 and the three members together providing a former with a continuous surface. The central member 12 is hydraulically reciprocable between a raised position in which a body portion of a garment is inspected and a lowered position as shown in Fig. 2 wherein sleeves or leg portions of the garment are inspected on the channel-section members 3. The spacing between the channel-section members 3 is adjustable by the provision of a slot 4 in the platform 2 and the members 3 can be clamped in their desired positions. Turning caps 26 engage the upper ends of garment sleeves or legs on the channel-section members 3 so that the garment may be turned inside out on removal from the apparatus. Alternatively suction tubes may be used. It is stated that attachments of the form described in Specification 1186684 may be provided on the channel-section members 3.
