Abstract

1391956 Winch dyeing machine LEEMETALS Ltd 28 June 1973 [13 July 1972] 32714/72 Addition to 1230477 Heading D1L A winch dyeing machine for dyeing a tubular fabric 1 comprises an arcuate passageway C formed between a perforate retaining wall and the interior wall of the machine, dye liquor sprays b mounted above the inlet to the passageway C for folding the fabric in a sinous manner into the passageway and supplying dye liquor to the fabric, a winch roller B for traversing the fabric through the machine, a pump 22 and heat exchanger 21 for supplying liquor removed from a drain at the bottom of the machine to the sprays b, an air-jet 2 for forming a balloon in the fabric as it is lifted from the outlet of the passageway and a trigger arm 4 engaging the underneath of the balloon and operating a valve 6 which regulates the air supply to jet 2 to control the size of the balloon. Additional liquor sprays 3 and roller D cooperating with winch B may be provided to prevent the balloon of air entering either end of the passageway C.
