Abstract
1391489 Incinerators; cooling drums; drying apparatus CLAUDIUS PETERS AG 28 March 1972 [1 April 1971] 14560/72 Headings F4B F4U and F4G A rotary drum, Fig. 1 for use as an incinerator, kiln, cooler or dryer, has a plurality of metal channels 5 extending longitudinally to form a lining with tubular passages 9 for a fluid. The channels 5, which are preferably of semi-circular section are held in place by bolts 18 Fig. 4 passing through the outer wall 3 and insulation 4 of the drum and engaging webs 15 welded to the channels. The channels may extend the whole length of the drum, or shorter lengths may be joined by inner and outer plates welded to the channels. An incinerator, Fig. 2, has an inlet shoot 1, and air is supplied by a fan 8 to pass through the ducts 9 formed by channel lining members 5 to the entry end of the drum. Heating or cooling fluid may be passed through the channels.
