Abstract

1391370 Safety razors GILLETTE INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Dec 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 57249/72 Heading B4B A safety razor blade magazine comprises two elongated blade strips 3, 4 each wound to form a respective storage coil from which coils 5, 6 they are fed by a take-up means 9 along respective paths, the path defining means 12, 16, 17 being disposed such that the cutting edges are in staggered relationship thereby ensuring that both blades can engage the skin and will follow one another in tandem relationship during the shaving operation. The blade 4 is arranged to pass between a backing surface 12 formed on the magazine body and a plate 16 of aluminium or plastics material. The blade 3 passes between the plate 11 and a support plate 17 of the same material. The plate 16 is provided with curved end portions to guide the blade 3, Fig. 2 (not shown). An indicator (10) Fig. 1 (not shown) indicates the number of usable lengths of blade remaining. The magazine may be connected to a handle, e.g. as described in Specification 1,225,060. The storage coils 5, 6 may be arranged in poitions different from that shown in Fig. 4.
