1391264 Agitating pulverulent material by gas currents; coating apparatus TYCOATE INDUSTRIAL FINISHES Ltd 29 June 1972 [2 July 1971] 31013!71 Headings B1C and B2L [Also in Division B8] An electrostatic coating apparatus having a spraying device operable to eject electrostatically charged pulverulent material in an air stream is coupled to a pulverulent material silo which includes a closable inlet 24, a closable outlet 32 and an annular chamber (40 Figure 2) which surrounds the outlet 32 and from which compressed air issues to fluidize the material. A porous polyvinylchloride membrane may be secured, in the annular chamber (40), over apertures 44, Figure 2, through which the air issues. The walls of the silo are double-skinned and include an intermediate layer of heat-insulating foamed plastics. The outlet may be closed by a disc or by a rotary feeder and metering valve.
