Abstract

1390627 Centrifugal separator I KRUGER AS 21 Nov 1972 [6 Dec 1971] 53832/72 Heading B2P In a screw centrifuge having a drum 1 tapered towards both ends, sludge to be dewatered is fed at one end 4 of a hollow shaft 7 on which, at or adjacent a point corresponding to the maximum diameter of the drum, is mounted a rotatable ejection wheel 5 having blades adapted to accelerate the sludge in a direction approximately tangential to the direction of rotation of the wheel. The concentrated sludge is discharged through one or more openings 2 at one end of the drum and the separated water passes through screens at the other end.
