Abstract

1390539 Knitting-machines O MA TEXRIMACH SRL 14 Nov 1972 [31 March 1972] 52565/72 Heading D1C The take-up mechanism for a flat machine is driven from a shaft 18 via a friction coupling and reduction gearing. Reverse rotation of the take-up shaft is prevented by a ratchet. The friction coupling comprises a disc 15 urged by a spring 10 against disc 14 rigidly connected to shaft 18. At least one of the discs is covered with material of a high friction coefficient. A first stage of the reduction gearing includes a pinion 11, rigid with disc 15, chain-driving pinion 54. A second stage comprises pinion 55 rigid with pinion 54, a chain drive and pinion 5 coaxial with the take-up roller 1. A pawl 4 carried by pinion 5 engages a ratchet wheel 3 fixed to the roller, ensuring a continuous drive, abut preventing reverse rotation of the roller.
