Abstract

1390289 Lighting fittings TRILUXLENZE KG 16 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 18211/73 Heading F4R [Also in Division H2] A connecting member to carry electrical wiring between two sea bed fittings 10 (e.g. in a strip-lighting system) comprises an arched tubular channel 20 of closed cross-section 21, each end passing through a cover 24 provided with a resilient ring 28 for sealing the cover to an opening 13 in one of the fittings 10. A spring catch 26, latching into a lip of each opening 13, ensures that the cover 24 fits tightly. The channel 20, covers 24 and spring catches 26 are formed in one piece, preferably as a plastics moulding or a zinc diecasting, for which purpose the arched channel 20 is conveniently made an arc of a circle in longitudinal section. Preferably the spring-catches 26 engage recesses 13a in the openings 13; and abutments 29 of the connecting member alongside the catches 26, and flanges 25a define the spacing between the fittings 10. The arched channel 20 is constructed to rest on supporting faces 14 of the fittings 10 at such a level that a satisfactory sealing pressure is ensured.
