1389835 Devices for broadcasting granular material BOMFORD & EVERSHED Ltd and J V FOX 16 March 1972 [29 March 1971] 8107/71 Heading AID A device for broadcasting granular material comprises a rotor 10 on a shaft 11 with a base 13 and a cylindrical wall 14 fitting closely around the outside of a fixed cylindrical control member 21. Parts 18 in the wall 14 communicate with radially extending channels 17 and an aperture 22 in the control member 21 allows granular material, impelled by vanes 15, to be fed from a hopper 36 to the channels 16 as the rotor 10 revolves. A vertically movable shutter 24 operated by a lever system controls the size of the aperture 22 and hence the flow of material. The circumferential extent of the aperture 22 may be varied in the range of 90‹ to 180‹ of arc and its angular position may also be varied.
