Abstract

1389777 Hoist cage gate operation LINDENALIMAK AB 25 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44866/73 Heading B8L The gate 23 at a hoist stopping level is automatically coupled for opening, to lifting apparatus for the gate 1 on the hoist cage, when the hoist cage gate 1 is lifted for opening adjacent the stopping level gate 23. The cage gate 1 is lifted and lowered by a motor 3 on the cage roof, coupled to the gate 1 through a rack and pinion drive 4, 5, rod 6 and pivoted linkage 7. The lower pivoted levers 13, 14 of the linkage 7 include jaws 18, 19 which project laterally to receive therebetween, a rail 22 secured to the gate 23. Upon lifting of the rod 6, the pivoted levers 9, 10, 13, 14 rotate causing the jaws 18, 19 to grip the rail 22 preventing further rotation whereupon the two gates are lifted with further upward movement of the rod 6. Tappets 25 and 28 on the rod 6 engage limit switches 27 and 30 for the motor 3 to control the range of movement of the gates. In a further embodiment the linkage 7 is operated by a driven wire and a spring is used to bias the jaws into the released position.
