Abstract

1389742 Bale stookers R H BROWNE 6 June 1972 [9 June 1971] 26226/72 Heading B5F A bale stooker adapted to be towed behind a baling machine comprises a ground engaging frame 10 having a platform area 11, a horizontal stooker frame 15 adapted to be moved whilst maintaining its horizontal position between a raised bale stooking position and a lowered stook depositing position, and a bale stop 22 pivotally mounted on the frame 15 so as to assume an upwardly projecting bale stop position when the frame is raised and a horizontal non-bale stop position when the frame is lowered. The frame is held in its raised position by catch members 16, 17 which can be released by a foot pedal (19). The frame falls against the bias of a spring 20. A lever (31) is provided to lift the frame. The bales are manually transferred from the platform to a stook forming rail 21 on the frame 15.
