Abstract
1389485 Weft selection; smallware looms ADOLPHE ET ANDRE CAEN SOC EN COMMANDITE PAR ACTIONS 10 March 1972 [12 March 1971] 11345/72 Heading DIE A smallware loom has a shuttle track 16 which is vertically movable on the sley 15 for weft selection. The track 16 (Figure 1) is connected to a selection mechanism 19 by a link 30, bell crank lever 31 and link 33. The link 33 (Figure 3) is connected to a lever 36, pivoted at 37 and movable by a baulk 40 so that it has three fixed positions (two or more described). To obtain the three positions each end of the baulk 40 is movable to one of two positions by a cam 42 acted upon by a Geneva mechanism 66, 73, and 66, 74 the donning part 73 of the mechanism being axially slidable under the influence of a pattern mechanism, e.g. Jacquard, so that it either engages and indexes its Geneva wheel or holds its Geneva wheel according to pattern requirements. The sley as a whole (Figure 1) is pivoted at 13, 14 on two links 9, 10 and is oscillated by a crank 7 pivoted to the sley at 7b to beat-up the inserted weft.
