Abstract

1389074 Coating apparatus GAF CORP 24 May 1972 [24 May 1971] 24349/72 Heading B2L [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for coating a sheet or web comprises a distribution slot 7, a primary distribution chamber 6 and a secondary distribution chamber 13 located transversely of the slot 7 to collect and distribute the coating material to form a uniform layer. As shown two coatings can be applied simultaneously each distribution slot having a secondary distribution chamber located therein. At a distance approximately three quarters of the way down the slot from the primary distribution chamber. The secondary chamber can have any suitable cross-section such as circular, square or diamond-shaped and may be located in both side walls of the slot.
